This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The bottom has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!

Life has been a circus lately, and I've been using that to explain why I'm not being very prolific on the art front. But let's be real for a second: everybody's life is a circus. Everybody's got obligations and priorities and responsibilities. I feel like I'm just now owning the fact that my lack of new art is solely due to my own inability (read: unwillingness) to adjust to life changes. I take care of the kids, I drill out school work, I clean and maintain the homestead, and at the end of the day I just feel like zoning out in a movie or a game or a stack of Reddit posts. No time for personal projects.
But like the Merovingian so adequately put it: "...if we do not ever take time, how can we ever have time?"
I fell into this quagmire all by myself, and I'm gonna dig myself out. I realized this morning that I so often have these great ideas for new art, but then resolve to do them later because I don't have time right now. I realized that it only takes a minute or two to scratch out a concept. I realized I actually do have the time. Right now. I have the time to do one more piece, flesh out one more idea, climb up one more rung on the ladder of self-improvement. Right now. Not later.
I dropped everything and grabbed my sketchbook and drew something I've wanted to draw for a while now: Ryan Gosling's character from Drive, since he's so badass, and that film's badass, and I like badass things. It took me about 3 minutes. And I IMMEDIATELY felt better about every aspect of my life. I felt physically and mentally charged. I took the time and just did it.
So that's the new thing I'm trying. When an idea pops in, I'm going to make it real STRAIGHT AWAY. The is no "later". There is only now, staring you in the face, asking you what your next move is.
